Products/Business
1. Porcelain exterior tiles for new-build apartment, condominium etc.
2. Porcelain interior tiles
3. Tiles for apartments renovation

The  Japanese tile market is unique compared with the tile markets  of
other countries here’s why:

1. The main application is for exterior walls
Please refer to the shipping volume statistics of all tiles released by
The Ministry of Finance (http://www.mof.go.jp/).

                                         Quantity(m2)         Amount

                                       (Unit 1,000m2)    (US$ex:100/$)

Exterior tiles (Small Tiles)     15,500               199,160,000
           "         (Large Tiles)      5,842                204,610,000
Floor tiles                                4,686                160,330,000
Interior tiles                             2,839                  85,500,000
Total                                      28,867                649,600,000

As you see above, the volume of exterior-use tiles account for 74 % of all
tiles shipped.

Historically, Japanese buildings were built of wood until The Edo-era(1603-1868).
After The Meiji-revolution in 1868,we learned western architecture and started to use bricks.
However, Japan is "Earthquakes country" ( so to speak)  and we found thatbuildings made of bricks were easily damaged by these earthquakes.
So, as a replacement for bricks, we developed exterior wall tiles to be puton Reinforced concrete structure buildings.

2. The market size is relatively small,in spite of the fact that interior wall tiles and interior floor tiles arethe most popular products in the global tile market.
This is not the case in Japan.  Because Japanese people do not wear shoes  in their housesand they do not like the  feeling of cold tiles.
Also, due to the rise of prefabricated bathroms (we call these "Unit baths") made of  FRP(fiber-reinforced plastic), in the 10 years, theseinterior wall tiles lost its biggest market.

To be continued

Cherry Blossom(Sakura)

The cherry blossom is almost in full bloom here in Japan.  I took the picture below in our factory site.

In winter, we look forward to coming Sakura season and love and enjoy it when it comes, although her life is very short.
